Groundbreaking Offshore Wind

Our Ocean Engineering students were also invited by Equinor, New York City Economic Development Corporation, Skanska, and NYSERDA to witness the groundbreaking for the new offshore wind port at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal.

They were able to see first-hand the start of career opportunities in offshorewind open to them in their own backyard. Several of last year’s graduates, now working with Edison Chouest Offshore, will likely wind up right here at SBMT.

Thank you to our mayor for for shouting out New York Harbor School alongside The City University of New York and State University of New York Maritime College as the pipeline for opportunities in OSW.
